John Stamos reveals details about Lori Loughlin's legal battle

John Stamos opened up about Lori Loughlin’s legal battle amid the college admissions scandal. In the September issue of GQ, the 56-year-old actor revealed he spoke to his Full House costar, 55, the morning she was implicated and still is at a loss for words.’I talked to her the morning everything hit. I just can’t process it still…whatever happened, I’m pretty sure that the punishment is not equal to the crime, if there was a crime,’ he said. The Hollywood vet added: ‘I gotta be careful. I want to wait until the trial happens, if it does, or whatever the result is, and then talk about it. I’ll tell you one thing that has been strange is: Honestly I can’t figure it out. It doesn’t make sense.’And Stamos might be shy in opening up about the Loughlin ordeal as his words have been misinterpreted before.  In June, Stamos was interviewed by Entertainment Tonight on Sunday regarding his involvement with a Malibu arts show and was asked about the recent college admissions misconduct which he did not want to comment on.Stamos tweeted on Tuesday: ‘I’m actually not speaking out. What I said was I’m not ready to talk about [Lori’s scandal.]’  ‘I talked to her the morning everything hit. I just can’t process it still…whatever happened, I’m pretty sure that the punishment is not equal to the crime, if there was a crime,’ he said; (Lori Loughlin and husband Mossimo Giannulli pictured August)’I guess it was my fault, but I’m disappointed in the @etnow interview I did to talk about #Loveandart show at @MalibuLumberYrd After an hour @nancyodell snuck in a Lori question and that’s mostly what came out of it. Guess I have to keep my guard up at all times,’ he added. The original interview was extensive and Stamos responded to an inquiry about the fate of the popular Netflix reboot after Loughlin’s legal troubles by attempting to avoid any details. ‘I haven’t been on the show yet and it hasn’t come up, so I’m going to talk to some people about it this week and see what’s going on,’ the star, who’s a producer on the show, told Entertainment Tonight on Sunday. ‘I’m just going to wait a little longer before I talk about it. It’s a difficult situation for everyone involved. I don’t mean just on our side.’ Loughlin has been in the headlines for months after authorities said she and her designer husband Mossimo Giannulli allegedly spent $500,000 in a scheme to get their daughters Isabella Rose, 19, and Olivia Jade, 20, into USC as part of the school’s crew team, even though the girls are not rowers. Both have pleaded not guilty in connection with the bribery ring in which 50 people were charged.Actress Felicity Huffman was also among those charged and she entered a guilty plea in April and will be sentenced in September.  The Hollywood vet added: ‘I gotta be careful. I want to wait until the trial happens, if it does, or whatever the result is, and then talk about it. I’ll tell you one thing that has been strange is: Honestly I can’t figure it out. It doesn’t make sense.
