He’s currently awaiting his college admissions trial with wife Lori Loughlin. And if 2019 hasn’t been tough enough for the couple, it’s now been revealed designer Mossimo Giannulli and the family have been mourning the death of both his parents over the past few months.The 56-year-old lost his retired architect father, Gene, in January and homemaker mom, Nancy, in July, according to People.Scroll down for video   ‘It’s been a very hard time for them, particularly for Mossimo, who lost both of his parents,’ an insider told People on Wednesday.   Share this article Share Another source added: ‘It’s been an emotional time for them.’ ‘But the court case has actually brought them closer together — their marriage is stronger than ever.’   Mossimo, who didn’t go to college, revealed in 2016 that he had lied to his parents about going to school. The designer pretended to be a full-time USC student and falsified report cards to trick his mom and dad. ‘[USC] was expensive, so that was how I was starting my company,’ he said to fashion blog, The Hundreds. ‘I used all that cash … I used to have hundreds of thousands of cash in my top drawer in my fraternity house. And I was like, “this is kind of too easy”.’ Mossimo and Lori were two of the 50 people charged in the college admissions scandal back in March. The married pair are being accused of paying $500,000 to have their daughters Isabella Rose, 21, and Olivia Jade, admitted into college. They reportedly pretended that the sisters were rowing recruits to the USC team, despite neither of them participating in crew.  Actress Felicity Huffman was one of the 50 parents and after pleading guilty to bribing $15,000, started her 14 day sentence on Tuesday. Lori and Mossimo have continued to plead not guilty. Their court case is set to resume in January 2020. The designer has a reported net worth of $60 million while Lori has $8. They are currently out and about on a $1 million bond.
