Sanford Health Administrative Health Coordinator Nikki Terveer recently returned to a full-time career. Nikki worked part-time for 12 years while raising her kids. She says a Returnship program would have have helped ease her back into the job.
For Nikki, time away from her career was important while she and her husband were raising their children. “Busy schedules, being able to be the carpool mom, and all those kinds of things,” she lists as activities she didn’t want to miss.
Senior Executive Director of Human Resources Brad Schoenfelder says Sanford Health’s new Returnship program is designed to help re-engage professionals who have been out of the workforce, while easing them back into a full-time career.
The Returnship program pays dividends for the employer, too. “We all know that finding great employees is challenging with unemployment the way it is,” Brad says. “It’s really hard to get the right number of people and the right people for the jobs.”
He says with the Returnship program, Sanford Health gets a seasoned professional who can hit the ground running.
